Futronic’s FS88HS USB2.0 PIV Fingerprint Smart Card Reader

The Futronic FS88HS Fingerprint Smart Reader combines Futronic’s FS88H USB2.0 PIV Fingerprint Scanner and IS07816 smart card reader into one device. F88H meets the US Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201) for Personal Identification Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors. It is also listed in the US General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved Product List.
FS88HS has exactly all features of FS88H. It can be used as purely fingerprint scanner with all Futronic’s standard software. The smart card reader in FS88HS can handle any ISO7816 compatible smart card. So that it can also be used as a standalone smart card reader.
And fingerprint scanner and smart card reader can be combined to do two-factor authentication. That is, registered fingerprint is can be stored on smart card (carried by user) which is read into PC to match with a freshly captured fingerprint from fingerprint scanner at the time of authentication. This can be achieved by using Futronic’s Fingerprint Recognition Software Development Kit (SD).
